Michalis Charalambides was born in Cyprus.

He studied in Hastings and now lives and works in Cyprus.

Michalis’ work is characterised by clarity of thought and a technique of impressive immediacy and simplicity of appearance. He emanates a limited range of colours, solid design, strong contrasts and a disciplined whole of visual imagery that emanates a modern expression and creates a poetic atmosphere.

Michalis Charalambides’ themes are a combination of landscapes and silent human figures. The collision of these two elements illustrates, on the one hand, a purely aesthetic perception of material things and, on the other hand, the agony of humanity.
