NOTES
Tozer visited the areas described in these 2 volumes on three separate journeys made in the summers of 1853, 1861 and 1865. An interesting work describing numerous places in Western and Northern Greece including a detailed account of Mount Athos as well as the southern parts of Yugoslavia, Albania. The work also contains an excellent chapter with notes on the ballads, tales and classical superstitions of the modern Greeks.
