Artist’s statement
Art is a journey. An escape from reality through shapes, colours and canvas. The way imagination and inspiration is captured in the painting characterizes and makes a painting special. The everyday life and difficulties of people of every era is my inspiration. With my every touch, I want to convey and preserve in the memory of all of us a three-dimensional representation of the old houses and traditional alleys of Greece that may disappear in the future. My motivation is the love for the labour of those people who with the difficulties of their times were able to create. Using authentic materials from nature and from their place and combined with a colour frame, I transfer them to a safer environment which is the painting. I am for realism which concerns the accurate depiction of life forms as well as perspectives and details of light and colour.
