NOTE
Dinos Michaelides was born in Paphos in 1934.
His innate talent in sculpture became apparent from his early childhood years. He went on to study Fine Arts (Sculpture), Economics and Business Administration in Lebanon, England and Greece and holds a BA, BBA, MA and Ph.D. Degrees.
In his career he has worked as a High School teacher and as a Government Officer with the Ministry of Finance in Cyprus for 21 years until his early retirement, to go private.
He has been President for 15 years of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and a representative of the Federation at the United Nations in Geneva. Presently he is the President and Managing Director of his own Group of Companies and a Board member of many Professional Associations and Philanthropic Institutions and Organizations in Cyprus and overseas countries.
The sculptures created by Dinos Michaelides have “woman” as their main theme. He portrays women in his own unique style which encompasses erotism and a sense of humor and makes his work instantly recognizable.
The sculpture currently offered at the Cypria auction is a very good example of his work. Dinos Michaelides’ work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
Worth a mention is that Dinos Michaelides is the father of the well-known journalist and TV presenter Elita Michaelidou.
