Notes
Katerina GEORGANTA was born in Greece in 1944.
She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Yiannis Moralis and later continued her studies in scenography at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her artistic training brought together the discipline of Greek academic painting with the broader visual and theatrical experience of Paris.
Georganta is a contemporary Greek artist whose work includes painting, watercolour, drawing, engraving and scenography. Her visual language is characterised by rich colour, imaginative composition and a strong decorative quality. Her paintings often combine figurative elements, symbolic references and theatrical atmosphere, creating works that move between reality, memory and fantasy.
Since 1977, when her first solo exhibition was presented by Tholos Gallery, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Her work has also included a series of wall paintings for public and private spaces.
Her paintings are held in private collections in Greece and abroad, including Cyprus, Paris, California, Miami, Chicago and Frankfurt. Katerina Georganta remains recognised as a contemporary Greek artist admired for the colour, theatricality and poetic character of her work.
