Iro ARMEFTI was born in Kato Zodia, Cyprus, in 1953.

Her family moved to Limassol when she was still a child, and the city became closely connected with her life and artistic activity. Her interest in painting developed gradually and, in 2000, she began attending painting lessons, studying colour, perspective, light, form, shadow and the basic elements of pictorial composition.

Armefti is a contemporary Cypriot painter whose work is characterised by colour, emotional warmth and a direct love of visual expression. Her paintings often reflect memory, everyday experience, personal feeling and a joyful engagement with life. Through vivid colour and accessible compositions, she creates works that communicate optimism, sensitivity and human presence.

Her artistic practice is marked by sincerity, spontaneity and a decorative sense of harmony. Her compositions often reveal a lively approach to colour and form, combining personal experience with a broader interest in the expressive possibilities of painting.

Iro Armefti has presented solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. Her works are held in private collections in Cyprus and internationally. She is also known for her wider cultural activity as the founder of the online group “Art Without Borders” and as president of the Pancyprian Association of Artists “Art Without Borders”, through which she has supported exhibitions and artistic exchange involving artists from Cyprus and other European countries.

In 2025, she presented the exhibition *25 Years of Art* in Limassol, marking twenty-five years since her first solo exhibition. Iro Armefti remains recognised as a Cypriot artist whose work and cultural initiatives reflect a strong commitment to creativity, artistic communication and social contribution.
