Notes

Anatolii KAKALOV, also known as Anatoly Kakalov, was born in Russia in 1966.

He studied at the Stavropol Art College, graduating in 1991, and later continued his studies at the Stavropol State Pedagogical Institute, graduating in 2006. Since the early 1990s, he has participated in regional, republican and all-Union exhibitions, gradually establishing himself as a contemporary Russian painter.

Kakalov’s work is mainly associated with figurative painting, still life, landscape and decorative compositions. His subjects include flowers, gardens, interiors, female figures, dancers, mythological scenes and coastal views. Works such as *Yachts in Paphos* also indicate his connection with Mediterranean subjects and private collections in Cyprus.

His painting is characterised by rich colour, expressive handling of form and a decorative sense of composition. Whether depicting floral arrangements, landscapes or figures, Kakalov often creates works with a lyrical and atmospheric quality, combining observation with an imaginative and poetic approach.

He has received distinctions including a Certificate of Honour from the Ministry of Culture of Stavropol Krai in 2002 and a diploma from the Academy of Arts in 2006. He has been a member of the International Art Fund since 2004 and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 2005.

Anatolii Kakalov continues to live and work in Russia. His works have appeared in galleries, private collections and auctions, including sales connected with Cyprus, and he remains recognised as a contemporary Russian painter active in figurative and decorative painting.
