A rare and atmospheric work by Pericles Pantazis, Autumn Landscape reflects the artist’s refined sense of colour and light, developed during his time in Brussels. Executed with loose, expressive brushwork and a rich autumnal palette, the painting shows the influence of French Realism and early Impressionism, filtered through Pantazis’s distinctive lyrical style.

A key figure in 19th-century Greek art and a member of the avant-garde Circle de la pâte, Pantazis was also associated with Les XX and exhibited internationally before his untimely death.

His works are held in major public collections, including the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium and the National Gallery, Athens. and The Leventis Gallery, Nicosia, Cyprus.
