Notes

Nina Iacovou was born in 1933 in the area of Agios Nikolaos, Famagusta, She studied at the School of Fine Arts in Athens between 1953-54, under the professor of ceramics Giorgis Georgiou. Returning to Cyprus, she visited the Archaeological Museum of Famagusta where she studied the clay Cypriot antiquities and learned the technique of ancient Cypriot terracotta pots and sculptures from archaeologist Angeliki Pieridou.

With the Turkish invasion, she settles in Larnaca where her workshop operates.
Her work is influenced by ancient Cypriot ceramics, mainly by kukkoumara (clay pot to keep the water cool).
