Provenance
The current owner inherited the work from his late father, who, in the 1950s, worked at the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area. They were friends with Kashalos and as he owned a car, he would drive Michael Kashalos to various fairs, where Kashalos sold his clay money boxes, mirrors, trays and other art pieces.
