Notes

Andreas Ladommatos was born in Nicosia in 1940. He studied painting at the Camberwell School of Art, London. He taught art at the Pancyprian Gymnasium, the Pedagogical Academy and participated in the Curriculum Development Unit for Secondary Schools. He also acted as consultant to the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation for visual arts.

He has given many lectures on History of Art and designed for the Cypriot Theatrical Organisation and the Theatre of the Cyprus Broadcasting co-corporation. His work has been used by the Ministry of Culture and Education in Cyprus to illustrate primary school books.

In 1982 he was awarded the State Illustration Award. He has shown his work in solo exhibitions and has taken part in many group exhibitions in Cyprus as well as England, Germany, Belgium, Australia, France and China. He has taken part in international exhibitions such as the 1967 India 1st Triennale, the 1968 Egypt 7th Biennale, the 1971 Brazil 11th Sao Paulo Biennale and the 1977 Yugoslavia, Fine Arts exhibition.
