Notes
The current owner inherited this painting from his late father, who, in the 1950s, worked at the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area. They were friends with Kashalos and as he owned a car, he would drive Michael Kashalos to various fairs, where Kashalos sold his clay piggy boxes, mirrors, and other art craft. In gratitude for his assistance, Kashalos gifted his close friend the painting titled “Ballerina and Her Partner”. Given the thematic and stylistic features of the piece, as well as the style of Kashalos’s signature from that period, it’s likely this painting is among the earliest works created by the artist.
The painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Kyriacos Kashalos, the son of Michael Kashalos.
