Notes

George Georghiou was born in Yaounde-Kameroon in Central Africa. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts with a scholarship from 1989 to 1995. He studied painting at the first painting workshop with Professor Dimitrios Mytaras as well as Sculpture in a sculpture workshop with Professor Efthymios Panourgias.

Additionally, Georghiou studied Stage Design at professor’s George Ziakas atelier where he and his teacher worked together and built the scene-ledge in the play “Bus Stop” by William Inge in July 1995. Since 1995 George Georghiou has maintained his own creative workshop in Agios Dometios. He teaches painting to students and adults.

The artist had eight successful solo exhibitions in both Cyprus and Greece, and participated in eight group exhibitions between Cyprus, Greece, and the United Kingdom. George Georghiou’s works are in public and private collections such as the National Gallery of Athens, the Collection of the Ministry of Education and culture of Cyprus, the Museum Collection Kykkos Monastery, the Private Collection M. Zampella, and the Vorres Museum.
