The artist’s description of this painting:-
“This is Red Butte, a cave east of Warmun. That old lady went mad here and lived in the cave here (red hill on right side of painting). Her name was Gudbarriya. She is still there now.”
Charlene Carrington was born in Perth and grew up at Warmun Community.
Carrington is an established international Australian artist who has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and her paintings are collected worldwide.
