Having lived full time in Crete in the 80s, Nicholas Moore now divides his time between London and the Greek island of Syros, with a bit of New York thrown in for good measure. Using a palette of strong colours these bold paintings draw together a broad range of subjects, mixing memories of childhood, his mother, mythology, sex, constellations and the urban landscape. The artist at turns exposes and conceals his world using a wealth of signs and symbols.

In the catalogue Jonathon Green, lexicographer of slang, and social historian writes:
“It helps if you have a little astronomy, a little bit of Beach Boys, a little bit of Soho, of Greece, a good deal of the artist’s life.
