Marina Vamvakas was born in Larissa, Greece, where she lived up to the age of eighteen.

She obtained a diploma in Athens to be a French translator and a diploma in History of Art at the University of Sorbonne in Paris.

Marina Vamvakascontinued her studies in painting and History of Art at the Academy of Design and Decorative Arts of Boitsfort in Brussels and obtained her diploma with high distinction.
Whilst in Brussels she also took courses in sculpture given by the famous sculptor Alexandre Ketele.
